ABOUT:

"Little Town" is the second single from Queen Frequency & The Twats, an LA-based band that implements feminism and science fiction themes into its music. Incorporating twangy guitar loops and spacey synths, “Little Town” combines two unlikely genres: folk and trance.

Lyrically the song takes place in conservative “little town” America and explores gender roles and repetitive traditional ideals that are taught as law. This theme carries over into the song sonically through the use of guitar/vocal looping — the compulsive repetition building up to a climax that embodies organized chaos.

lyrics

Spaced out on the dance floor
Feet are bleeding
You're ruining you

Naive little lights glow
So new and inviting
We'll get used to you

And the potholes will never get filled
You're wrinkling every day still
Where's the movement
My eyes can't see
The longer I wait, the longer I'm free

Like sheep in a daze, we carry out our lives
Invading each other
Submitting our brains

First happy, then bored, we hang up distinction
Obsessed with obsession
Convinced that we're sane

And the potholes will never get filled
You're wrinkling every day still
Where's the movement
My eyes can't see
The longer I wait, the longer I'm free

And lost girl you're gonna get found (repeats)

Lights flicker against the plaster
They're on their last leg
We don't look your way

How come nobody's dancing?
Vacant, you're sideways
You've lost your day

And the potholes will never get filled
You're wrinkling every day still
Where's the movement?
My eyes can't see
The longer I wait, the longer I'm free

Lost girl you're gonna get found (repeats)
